Planting
The planting schemes were designed to enhance the natural beauty and existing features of the site. A bog garden was created in an area where an old pond had once existed with log stepping stones (taken from trees felled on site) leading down through a planting of Japanese Irises, Hostas, Gunnera manicata, Rheum palmatum and Ligularia. Around the house, mature Yew hedging and Box balls were planted to provide instant structure. Careful consideration was given to the long term management of the garden with the recruitment of garden staff and maintenance specifications and budgets drawn up.
